home faces all i know
bloodstained from shattered screen windows
while my new friends in the magazines
all fuck around to keep things clean
i scrub to make my front door glow
wave your toothpick in my face
engrave some nice plaque to hold your name
pull me up three flights of stairs
to the banisters you stuck your head through
that time you swore you saw them move
and i'm hanging off of this streetlight
and the twilight cuts like a knife
i still find more solace in pacing
than tearing at my own insides
i don't wanna be indebted
to a letter nobody's wrote yet
if you wanna stain the present
don't cut it open, the ink's where you left it
i'm on the edge of a wicker home
a place i can burn from inside
all of the hairs i save from undeath
choke my cold front dry
i feel it pushing my fingers
into the frameworks you left behind
and the banister's holding my hands still
it likes to let me shake sometimes

is it this i've waited on?
if it is it's come undone
and my silhouette knows its place
retracing my steps each day
and the moon turns over the same ground
it won't be missed
is it safe here after dark?
my bones seem to think it's not
and my grandfather takes his own
as the small shakes come and go
and the drink turns over the pain now
it's come to this
